Feb
Feb is an exploration of self-reflection and self-love. Inspired by the imagery of a fairytale maiden gazing into a pond and the intimate moment of emerging fresh from a shower, this piece abstracts reflective surfaces to convey that a sense of self is not something tangible—it is something to be felt.
Having often used art as a way to process negative emotions, this piece was created from a place of love and beauty. Drawing on skills passed down through my family, I knit a net from 400 feet of floral wire, carefully dyeing and folding each flower by hand. This delicate net, representing self-imposed limitations, ultimately fails to contain the abundance of beauty and blessings embodied by the flowers.
